SAGE Research Methods - new e-resource

Starting this year, Charles University has subscribed to the SAGE Research Methods Core collection, a comprehensive resource that covers qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research. This collection offers practical support for teaching research methodology and conducting research, helping students better navigate various research methods.

Currently, Charles University has access to a portion of the content, specifically:

• Books and Reference - monographs, handbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries, and journal articles. They provide both brief overviews of research methods and in-depth explanations of research concepts and methodologies. This category also encompasses the Little Green Books and Little Blue Books, which are a series of concise and accessible texts focused on quantitative and qualitative research methods. These books offer clear explanations and insights into the theoretical and practical aspects of research. 

• Podcasts – explore real-life stories and the challenges of social science research, helping us understand society. They can be downloaded or accessed as transcripts. 

• Videos – case studies, tutorials, interviews... Videos and transcripts can be downloaded. 

• Research Methods and Tools

  • Reading List - you must create personal profile in the database, which enables you to save searches and set up alerts for new content on your chosen topic.

  • Which Stats Test – finds the most suitable statistical method by answering questions.

  • Project Planner – step-by-step project preparation and progress. 

  • Methods Map – interactive guide to selecting the appropriate research method; explains the relationships between methods

The subscription does not include datasets, case studies, or other types of content. If needed, you can extend the subscription in the future to include additional sections.

You can limit searches to the available content and filter results by subject area. Additionally, books can be searched for in UKAŽ.

Access to SAGE Research Methods
